painting with oils

Hi every one. I'm fairly new here and it seems like a great board. Ive bought a few of the Adam Hughes Women of the DC universe busts

And the factory paint jobs are pretty poor some times. So I'm thinking about repainting them, but using oils instead of an airbrush. I've seen those smaller military busts done with oil and the look fantastic. Ive never used oils before however and I wondered if you guys knew any good "how to" website or tutorials floating around so I don't flying in blind.

wow, these are cool, Im surprised I havent seen them. I especially like the Supergirl. Good idea to repaint them, theyll be fun to do. As for a good site for oils, I dont know. Ive had many attempts with oils and theyre just not for me...they hate me. so, I'll stick with my trusty airbrush...me and my ol Sotar are like Billy the Kid and his trusty colt ;D

i'm not sure what other sites you are a member of but if oyu are a member of armorama then look for a guy called Mongo Mel he paints in oils and is damn good.

personally speaking i only use them for facial details, like figurator i prefer a faster turn around time and always use my trusty airbrush!

if you wanna get them figutaor, there about 45$ and a little small . But I'm a Adam Hughes (the guy who did the illos they are based off of) fan boy so ...there you are. Ill take a look at the the arorama guy as well. thanks
