the subject says it all really,
having painted my karnstein figure and masked off the area with Humbrol Maskol i then painted the otehr areas of the kit... now comes time to peel the stuff off and once again it's strips the paint off, right back to the resin !!!!!
i am never gonna use that crud again.... its' frakkin useless, what moron ever labelled that crap as being useful as a liquid mask deserves to take part as a victim of the nxt copy of the hostel!
so now i'm gonna have to strip the kit and do this all over again.... i had hoped to have the kit finished for club night but you can kiss that sweet idea goodbye, i got three days to fix it, bear in mind i work dayshifts so all i ever do is sleep, eat and work right now.
oh for health and safety reasons, anyone in the vicinity of stirling should keep their eyes peeled as there is a small bottle of purple maskol about too be launched out of my patio window!
FRAK HUMBROL & FRAK MASKOL !!!
Ranting now ends

There you have a valuable lesson young padawan! Shouldn't joke really but have a touch of bin there dun that, so I sympathise completely PM. Best to go down your local art shop and buy the masking fluid from there, "Winsor & Newton Art Masking Fluid for Water Colour" I used it on my Karnie and was well pleased with the result. Hope this helps, I,m really dissappointed with just about everything Humbrol make nowadays apart from their liquid cement for my other Kits.

funny you should mention that mate... i here plastacine or play doh as the call it stateside is a popular solution...anyway, i have now reprimed her... that Mr Muscle stuff cleaned her off a treat. It took several applications but that was really to remove stubborn undercoat... all the tamiya paint came off in seconds of applying the first burst of Mr Muscle.

I too have done this , on more than one occasion. No matter how well I think everything has been sealed...theres always that one little bitty crevice that doesnt get sealed...and the next thing you know....that one spec turns into a huge bare resin spot! oh, I use Latex mold maker for mine. I'll have to try that WN stuff. sounds like itd be perfect. Didnt know they made it.

I've had excellent results with liquid latex mold maker. Maybe worth a try?

well i'm kinda glad that it has happened to everyone else i thought maybe i was the only one that this seems to happen too alot. as for kornbeef's suggestion, i'm gonna look into that, i don't think i could handle another episode like lastnight again right now. anyway i have re-primed her and have just painted her her again in the basic dark brown shade i was using earlier. I have now left her to dry in the sun for 2 hours whilst i get ready and do some house work on my day off. Then in 2 hours time i'm gonna spray her with the basic flesh tone and start all over again.
