Hi Guys, Ive been really stupid, really stupid. I saw Luca's "Sophie" for sale on a website and was amazed how cheap it was. Thinking I may have been getting one over on the retailer or a real bargain I ordered it. You guessed! it was a recast a poor one at that full of flaws bubbles etc and in hard unworkable resin. I have Natasha by Pegaso already so know the quality of their kits. The company concerned was Frontier Models here in the UK. I checked back on the web and did notice then that the manufacturer was someone other than Pegaso. I have Emailed Luca, both to apologise and alert him to the fact of which I'm sure he is only to aware. What do we do guys, there was even one of Luca's shots of Sophie on the site. they stock a lot of Pegaso kits, solarwind and other well known manufacturers although most actually state the manufacturers name bit can we trust them. P,d off at my own stupidity! Kornbeef

Sorry to hear that, I know excatly how you feel. I think I remember the site your talking about. I almost bought from them a while back due to the deals on some kits. But, I opted not to, even though some of their recast ripoffs are priced close to regular retail. Dont blame yourself, theyre the thieves here.

kornbeef,
i wish you had told me that you were planning to buy from them, i could have warned you!
they have a good track record for selling over priced recasts, despite issuing a statement saying they don't!
my advice is cancel the payment, and send it back stating that it is not a genuine copy and you are not happy with quality... you could also contact trading standards as well, they might be able to give you some advice.... that's all i cna think of at the moment.

Yeah, that was the outfit where I found the re-cast of James Art stuff and got the cold shoulder from him.

Wish I had known! Experience is a great tutor Humpff. I tried working on it to see if I could do anything with the kit but the resin is so unworkable as hard as stone and brittle as hell, after getting bits in the eye a few times I pushed it to the back of my pending shelf.
