Probably not going to find anyone here, but Ive thought about trying makeup made for the airbrush. anyone ever tried it? they seem to have some great skintones that would match perfectly when doing large scale figures. Not sure how well it would adhere to resin though.

I've looked at it. Thought I'd wait for someone else to try it first. LOL.

I think I'll add my thoughts here if no one minds. In addition to model building I also do a bit of costuming and theatrical makeup and one thing to keep in mind about using makeup in airbrushes, the make up is usually water based and VERY VERY thin in consistency. I know I've had problems brush painting washes of thinned acrylic adhere to resin so I'm thinking that make up may not adhere. The best you could do is try it over a nice even primer coat. Since I'm afraid of the airbrush that's about all the advice that I have.

I was afraid of that. Ive tried using my better halfs makeup for the makeup work on my figures..... didnt stick. I wasnt sure if there was an acrylic makeup around, since Ive heard of so many people (models) being airbrushed.

Exactly. Makeup is formulated with emollients and waxes so that they will either lay smooth on the skin or absorb into the surface of the skin. Therefore using them on a non-porous (or failry non-porous) surface like resin...well, you've heard the term "Water off a duck's back'" Yep pretty much the same thing with makeup on resin.
