I'm glad there is no requirement here to submit a photo of our work area, I've got a lot of what you call for ...SPREAD ALL OVER THE ROOM. Hey, your tip on pallets/ice cube trays hit home. The trays will definitely keep track of many small parts.
Thanks.

my wifes finally given in and let me have the spare room to do my work . it isn't big but I'm sure it,ll be OK . the thing i cant make my mind up with is I've got a load of old wall tiles from a previous job , what do you guys think to using them to cover my work surface with , I've pondered with the idea but the unflat surface is putting me off your thoughts would be appreciated here . like this idea for cube trays , but hare another for you wooden coffee stirrers the ones that looks like ice lolly sticks make great paint stirrers and they are cheap too from amazon. also old ceramic tiles make great paint pallets too and are easy to clean , but hey you guys probably know all this . just thought i,d add a bit to get me posting lol

I think tiling is a great idea. You can guarantee you'll be spilling glue/paint/solvents on them so they'll be relatively easy to clean. get a cutting mat though, the idea of a knife slipping on porcelain gives me the jitters ;D

yeah goes through me too just thinking . the only thing that bothered me was the gaps , ok im not gonna use spacers to decrease the gap , but theres still gonna be one . i will use a mat to make a more stable surface , just seemed a waste of good tiles , and i was going to throw them on the tip . then my wife quoted the modelers adage , never throw anything you might be able to use lol . i,ll post a few pics when its done , im no norm abrahms and it isnt going to all oak lol but it'll be workable and well stocked . just picked up a nice deal today for paint acrylic tubes 12 of £1 = 50c a box as many as i want worth a look in my eyes
