An Avatar for those who dont know is the small picture you see under the name of the poster on the left hand side.
The forum has built in Avatars which can be selected for use via your profile page.
You can also use a specified picture there,,, in order to do this the picture must be stored on the internet which you are able to link to. e.g locationofimagehere.net
Images should ideally be no larger than 100x100 pixels.
(online free companies for storage www.photobucket.com and www.webshots.com are 2 of the most commonly used places.)
