This is the first real "female" figure I've done. There are a couple more on the shelf but at the rate I work it will be a while before they are ready to post. Jim

Thanks for the kind words. It was done entirely in acrylics. I use an airbrush and pastels for shading. I hope to post more, but I'm a very slow worker.

Well, it’s a 1/8th scale resin kit sculpted by Mike James and produced by Azimuth Design. It was covered with pinhole air bubbles and took quite a bit of preparation. Once it was primed, painting was pretty straightforward. I did the flesh tones first. I use PolyS acrylics and an airbrush. I have a bottle of base flesh color that I mixed myself. I work from the darkest colors to the lightest. The entire figure was painted a dark rust color. Next I used my base flesh mix and began to define the muscles, curves and contours. Finally I mix a lighter flesh color and sprayed in the highlights. As the colors got lighter, less of the surface was painted. Chalk pastels were used to add subtle shading and depth of color. I rub the pastel on fine sandpaper to produce a powder. The pastel powder is applied with soft brushes. A little at a time is applied and blended out with the brush. Excess pastel is carefully blown away. Warm browns were used to deepen the recessed areas. Red was used to add color and warmth to the cheeks (face and rear) and bust area. The swimsuit was painted using the same techniques. The hair was painted black then dry brushed brown. Facial details were hand painted. That’s a general description of the process. I’d be glad to answer any specific questions!

That's a fantastic job you've done. I think it's my favourite female kit at the moment, and I might try and get one. I can't believe someone got one free over at The Clubhouse with about 3 other Azimuth kits. They were in a box with the model he bought on eBay, apparently the seller could'nt be bothered to list them all seperatley and just added them to the winnings. Why can't something like that happen to ME!!!!

Azimuth Designs are some of my all time favorites. Nice job on a great kit. My favorite from Mike James is the Bad Tabitha kit. Now if only had the $$ to buy one. "Q"

Thanks again. I was lucky enough to win this kit in a contest. Mike James has a definate style. I've got a small Vampirella I'm working on as well as a Countess Karnstein.

I also have to agree Azimuth Designs, has some of the best girl kits.
Nice paint up on her, love the skine tones and the blue color of her outfit.
