My lastest Karnstein project

Well after visiting the ipms show last weekend ( 29th april) i have cracked open the box and i have started work. so far i have cleaned up the figure and i have now begun to paint the base that she stands on.

I have found a rather nasty looking mold ejection sprue on the top of the wall section as well as a few very small air bubbles, which has disappointed me in this kit, i guess i have been spoiled with other kits that i have built. However these problems were on the base which is cast in a traditional pale yellow resin whilst the figure has been cast in a pure white resin. I haven't had any issues with the figure part of the kit, which is 100% perfect as far a casting goes.

That looks like the base for the original Karnstein, which IIRC was originally one of the old Soldat kits and one of their first sculpts.

very good chance of it mate.

anyway, here is a progress shot. i've almost finished work on the base section now, i only have to add the highlightes to the moss and lichen areas as well as adding some staining to the wall section to blend it all in and then it will be complete.

My favorite Karnstein kit. It took me a couple of years to get up the nerve to paint her. Have fun!

well i've finally started the actual figure and i have now finished the fleshtones and i'll try and start up tht clothing on her sometime son.

it's been a while since i was last able to pick up this kit and do some work but i have managed to advance a little further.

i have started painting her clothes as well as her hair and facial details.

shes lookin good man, startin to come to life with the colors
