well, i bought this kit some time ago and now, finally i have gotten round to opening her up and starting work on her. the figure itself has be well cast with few seams and little clean up... if only i could say the same about the gothic base :-( porrly fitting and it's going to need a shed load of filler... i might dispense with it and scratchbuild one from balsa wood/foam. This is the second generation of this kit, it has non-symetrical wings ( which i'm not a fan of) and a gothic style base as opposed to the old cobble stone version with the discarded crusfix lying on the ground. poorly fitting base section... the walls don't line up very well.

It never ceases to amaze me that the folks producing these kits don't all take the time to do some quick quality control on the pieces. No sense in gaps that you can drive a tank through. I have often heard "easy to repair" or rot like that. It boils down to "I've got your cash and that's that."
Actually, as talented as you are, you can probably do a base that is more fitting to the scene any way. I base that evaluation on you ability to make coffins and headstones. LOL.
Good luck.

Dave ;D thanks for those kind words, i think i will have a go at making a new version... every time i look at the base it jsut puts me off from completing it. anyway here is an update on the work so far. i have attached the legs and torso as well as on of her arms, i need to putty in some of the gaps on the torso section which i will use milliput for and then i'll attach the other arm. as for her lower legs they are just about ready for painting and then i can set them a side while i work on the actual body section.

I cantw ait see see the work you do on this one. Even though I havent bought one, its been one of my favorite pieces to admire...still on my wish list. I agree with DrHall about the "quality" control, or lack of. I too think you could whip something up even better than whats provided.

just another little update... i have now primed the little lady and although i don't have any pictures of her in her first fleshtone i hope to post some soon. just came home from work and found the figure lying in peices, both her arms had broken off when she hit the ground... apparently the place that i put her wasn't safe enough and some how she managed to fall :x  so i have now had to re-glue them and add some MR surfacer to try and fill in the cracks I e-mailed PSI for some info on Dominique II about a week ago but no answer. Guess I won't hold my breath. Dave ;D i had to contact the guy directly over on the clubhouse and sent him a PM... i seem to remember the same problem when i tried contacting him via email

Finally connected. I got Dom II ordered. No more Dominique for a while as Jerry told me his caster quit. Something about other responsibilities. He has Dom II on the shelf.

Dave ;D Wow Dave that kinda sucks about the original Dominique figure no longer being available, sure hope that changes soom. by way of an update i thought i would post a picture of her wings which i have been working on. It took me the best part of my day off to get to the point i was happy, i had a hell of a time thinning the paint down as i was using artists acrylics.

well here i am again folks with the finish line almost in sight... that's usually when things start to go wrong and i have a few minor mishaps to take care of. anyway as you can see she is almost complete, i need to colour her eyes and eyebrows as well as deal with some of her rings and armbands. once i have done this i will then be able to add the wings. i hope to have her completed by Christmas day, so wish me luck.
