Well folks I know I've banged on about it and you're all probably sick already but heres a few piccies after the first coupla hours work. Besides the plentiful packing heres what you get in the box. Isn't she a doll, I need to work her teeth a little to make them stand out. Spot the most awkward bubble on her ear ring! "What'll I do?" No not a porno butt shot, this is the rest of those bubbles, if only all resins were as good as this. All in all I'm well impressed, don't know if the wife will be when she sees her! Will keep you all updated fellas ;D

patience kornbeef, you don't rush a girl like this, you take your time with her really though i look forward too seeing her once she is completed, i cna't beleive you have already started painting flesh tones already! my karnstein number 1, is still in white matt car primer paint and i wont be spraying her until later on when i get some new paints... i want to experiment with liqitex artist acrylics...saw them being used by david fisher in his "model mainia" films

Whats wrong with me? Got her flesh sorted again and have been merrily painting her clothing basecoats in red. The base is finished in guess what colour Red! Thats when I realised I've a Sugita Vampi in red and intend getting the Solarwind Vampi (in red of course!). I looked at her loosely assembled on the base, red base surround, red boots, red gloves, red clothes, red hair! red! red! red! RED!!!! So now I'm gonna repaint her in green attire seeing as I've set my mind on making her a redhead with green eyes. Now dark green or light green, DOH!

Okay Mr Hall I took your advice and several big breaths and days later I've made some progress. Base is all but finished, perhaps I'll add some more vegetation. I shaved the name off only because I wanted to display her from different directions. Now this is the lady herself, dont be too critical she's only half done and most the paint is base colour only. Ive used 90% citadel paints on her so far with a little Tamiya clear green for her gloves etc to give a patent leather effect. Hair and clothing is in base colours and her face is only half done. The photos were taken in the kitchen at night under a flourescent tube so are washed out a bit. Thanks to whoever it was who mentioned about using lilac to lighten/darken the skin, in the flesh it gives her a real cold dead glow! [ [ Overall I'm very impressed with the kit, a few bubbles that were easy to sort, then a few pinholes that only came to light when I'd sprayed her the first time. due to overeagerness she had to be done again (will I ever learn?) another weeks work and I can order Vampi!!!!! ;D TTFN Keith

kornbeef i noticed there is some smudged sections on the upper left cup of her top... have you fixed this or was the picture taken earlier?
as for the figure, she looks great, i really like the colour choice that you've made rather than follow the standard box art scheme.... makes me think i'll go down that path and use dark blue for my countess karnstein.
what clear varnish do you usually use too seal your paint work with? i have experimented with Humbrol clear matt varnish that comes in a spray can but have had some issues with it. Can you recommend anything ?

She's still in progress, most her clothing is in basecoat only. I have the metal to paint as well and her hair. Then I can shade/pastel her to do her makeup. As for Matt varnish I was hoping someone on the forum could recommend one to me. I had heard a few horror stories about humbrol's matt varnish clouding and causing reactions or dissolving the paint beneath which would be a major PaSS off!

The actual stuff i used was from one of those small tin cans similar in appearance too Humbrol tins only they are blue. The other matt clear i have is humbrol but it's in a spray can ( i was feeling lazy and couldn't be bothered to mix the paints, so i bought a ready made spray instead) i have even bought a small galss jar of humbro matt clear varnish and it doesn't look ver clear too me, there seems to be alot of white particles in the mix which obviously effect the out come of the spray!

I like the green! (but I wouldn't have minded seeing her in red!) I normally use Testors model masters lusterless flat lacquer, but here's something I know sounds weird but...If you notice the human body does have a slight sheen to it, during an expriment (because I ran out of my spray lacquer) i know from my wife that hair spray works the same as lacquer ...so I gave it a try and believe it or not it worked and worked well. I used my Vampi from solarwind (version1) it made her hair and boots slightly glossey and her skin just a little sheen. I'll post a pix and see what you think.

A little tip! After reading Tengu's post about hair laquer it got my mind working. Many moons ago we used to use hairspray instead of fixative when pastelling at college.
So I thought I'd give it a go with Fixative spray, Didnt come out all matt or even slightly sheened but a wonderful high gloss wet look that puts many gloss varnishes to shame and a very thin coat too! Not what I wanted but worth remembering!
