"Ive got Natasha half done" Kornbeef, Would love to see some pics! The face (believe it or not) is what sells me on her ;D I'd get one but the price right now is out of reach. Figurator, It always is that last minute on ebay that makes or breaks Especially with all these snipe programs they have. Good Luck,

Mornin' Luca, I would say if your doing it from a kit no longer available (probly due to recasters) and it is for your own use, say a variation on painting, then I guess it would be ok. If your doing it for sale to the public, then NO, sculpt something original and make a decent kit. Just my (newbie) 2cents

Good morning Guys may I ask you a very serious question? what do you think about RE-CAST? Personally Luca i'd like too see all of them up against the wall, they have hurt the model industry and more importantly the garage industry, who have created some magnificent peices of work and still do. I realise that many people don't know or care that there money isn't going to the people who created the figures and that probably like most of us their figure buying ability is controlled by their own individual earnings so a cheaper kit would make sense. I also know people will build and display their figures on this site, i don't have an issue with that but i do object strongly to known recasters selling cloned or copied kits on this site and they will be asked to stop or they will be removed. Now i don't have a list of recasters but if memebers of this site supply me with knowledge and evidence of recast trading here then i will act. the fact that the little guy in his basement sculpting figures can not afford to defend himslef from the growing army of recasters is a hard fact to swallow. I feel it is up to everyone to make the choice of what is right or what is easy. At the end of the day when a kit goes OOP you have to ask yourself what did i do to make that happen and what could i have done to prevent it.... in short pay more for a genuine decent copy or pay peanuts for crap....it's your call folks. ok that's my tuppence worth, time too get of my high horse ;D

All recasters must hang! I completely disagree with what they are doing. I dont mind the ones that buy the rights to do so for OOP kits, they actually serve a good purpose, but those stealing from others...uh uh ... I just found out this morning I was ripped off. I have oneof Artomic Creations Vampira kits. Had the little booklet with it and everything. Looked ligit, I even bought it at a comic shop for $200.....someone told me this morning that he's built 5 of them so far for clients and the one I have is NOT an original. ! k...nuff said ....
Phantom...I was still planning on bidding for this, but it goes over $100 USD , which Im sure it will, I'll have to stop. Last one I saw of these on ebay it went for $200.....and this one if Im right is OOP!

Yes boys Re-Casters are THIEFS. This is the point. I can understand when someone copy a music CD (in any case it is not legal) but, Music Companies produce CD at a cost of 10 cents and sell it at 20 euros (here in Italy). And they sell thousands and thousands (if not millions) for each CD pproduced. When we compare this reality with the reality of a Figures Producer, the situation is totally different. To give you a sample, to cast the SOPHIE we spend (only speaking about to cast...ok?) 34 euros. Then the box, the packaging, the ArtBox, the Painting cost, the Sculpting cost, the time we spent in ideating and drafting the subject, the Advertisings etc...etc..... To Pegaso, a SOPHIE has a production cost no less than 50-60 euros. Till today we have sold 280 circa Sophia figures (90% to distributors at 67 euros).
So, believe me, in this kind of market Re-Casters (by my personal point of view) are CRIMINALS. But, sadly, it seems that the most of Modelers don't care about such problem. The most of Modelers are convinced that we sell THOUSAND of figures.....
The Re-Cast market has been evaluated in 35-40% of the total market (on E-Bay it is full of Illegal Copies and, to complain was totally unusefull).
Well...my question was only to better know the opinion of this comunity on the argument.
Thanks for your answers.

I iwsh Ebay would be a bit more strict where they need to be..I once had an auction canceled which I was selling a WWII reference book on the "Waffen SS", which was the title...they canceled that, but nooooooo, if someone like yourself was to report a recast of one of your kits...they leave it on....

Totally agree with everything said here. What some people do not realise is as Luca says the time and expense producing something as fine as these kits. To recast them is relatively cheap and doesn't require half the resources and none of the skill and patience that the original took to conceive. Originals may seem expensive but when you look at it realistically Luca and his fellow producers must make a living out of our hobby and a profit to bring us further delights! I draw and paint as well occasionally take a commission on, some people expect you to work for nothing, when you estimate a drawing at taking say 6 hours and they gasp in disbelief if you suggest a price over 30 quid. I'm behind the "line them up against a wall" squad. Tell me it's not true that Sophie is out of production Luca! If so how about casting a nice bound girl to pair up with my Natasha!
